Downer

4 days without a post.

FUCK

This is what happens when...
1) You get busy
2) Your sleep schedule becomes backwards and inside out

I had a lot to talk about too.
I will get to these things.
Ranting must continue, errr grow... or ya know, actually occur.

Feelin' Froggy

I have been asked on a very regular basis by fans and bands alike since the 1st and only inception of our Pre-Bamboozle Festival in 2008 if/when we will be doing another one.

I finally have an answer for you all so I figured I'd do it like this.

It is quite simple.

NEVER

There will be other festivals and cool events besides all the weekly shows in other time periods in Poughkeepsie though. Many of these are already in the works or are in the think tank.

Trust me, this is a good thing, not a bad one.

Next year, go to The Hoodwink instead. That's where I'll be ;)

Cut.It.Out.

So let me tell you about last night.

Myself along with 2 friends went to go see Dave Coulier perform stand up. If you do not know who Dave Coulier is by name he was Uncle Joey on Full House. Duh!

Anyways, I got some great news earlier in the day so I decided it was a night of celebration.
I had a few beers while getting ready to leave for the night and as soon as we got there and were seated bought our table drinks (the unsuspecting strangers seated with us were pleasantly surprised). The opening act was a guy named Kevin Bartini.
Absolutely hilarious. Dave was incredible too but the real story begins after the show.

We are hanging out watching Dave sign autographs and take pictures with people when the opening act Kevin came out so I approached him and introduced myself. We ended up going to the bar in the hotel where we were at to grab drinks and continue our conversation there. Pretty sure I am going to book this guy on a show.

This is when Dave Coulier strolls into the bar and buys a bottle of red wine and plops himself down next to us.

Absolutely hilarious scenario. It is myself, my 2 friends, this Kevin guy and Uncle Joey from Full House in a bar in a hotel in Poughkeepsie hanging out.

Ended up hanging out for about 2 hours before we left.

Such an interesting and hysterical way to end such an awesome day and I'll just leave it at that.

And now onto the weekend!

Up, Up and Away

So I've kept this daily blog thing up for a week now and it's actually getting some views. Interesting. haha. It has been a lot easier than I thought in keeping up with it.

I have more nonsense to spit out in my head then even I gave myself credit for.

THUMBS UP? THUMBS DOWN?

Either way I am into it.

I am going to keep todays entry short though. Too much to do today but I am going to go see Dave Coulier (Uncle Joey from Full House) perform stand up tonight (HAHA) so hopefully there will be something interesting to say about that.

Maybe?

I let myself down

A few hours after the fact I now realize I should have put "gambling" as "gamBLING" in the title of my last post.

ME = FAIL

NeGO!tiation vs. Gambling

I absolutely love booking shows and the music industry so much that I often forget that all I am basically doing is a version of controlled gambling.

Ok ok, so it's not EXACTLY like playing roulette or craps... It's even better...

I am "buying" bands for a night at a pre-conceived notion of worth then re-selling them in the hopes of making all the money I invested into them for the night back and then some. That of course is the very abridged version of the whole process and maybe I'll dive deeper into it at some point but not right now. No, right now I must go back to trying to read your mind to figure out how many of you will go see BAND X on DATE Y for PRICE Z.

SEE FOR YOURSELF.

Sup?ply & Demoned

Everyone knows the conundrum that is "the chicken or the egg?" and this very question can be geared towards the popularity of bands.

Is it the team behind the band along w/ the promotion, marketing and timing of a band OR the band and fans themselves that determines how popular a band gets?

I can argue it either way if I had to. (I can argue anything in any direction)

People who hate what gets popular will always say it's only the process and that they don't understand it and how much it sucks ETC ETC. I personally think the process is apart of the music itself nowadays. It's the evolution of artists and art in general. If you reject it, it will reject you back. If I put my nose in the air to it and didn't evolve my brain and ears month by month simultaneously I would be out of business quicker than a 1 hit wonder.

If people are talking and the kids are coming that's what matters in the end.
ANY PUBLICITY IS GOOD PUBLICITY. (part cliche/all truth)

Groups like BROKENCYDE and MILLIONAIRES are perfect examples of this. The more people talk and make a fuss about them even as negative as it is all that does is propel them farther into the spotlight.

I personally think they are genius. It's just great business.

I love 'em.

Yeah, I said it.

I love 'em.

Sue me.

Endanger Us Summer

No early post today for a few reasons. I caught up on some very necessary sleep and from the moment when I did wake up until right now I've been working non-stop. This summer is so jam packed and intense it's going to be crazy. I don't think I've ever had as busy as a month as July is going to be but it is definitely a good thing. Every month something new happens. There's already newer, better, more exciting plans on the horizon. Nothing that can be announced just yet though unfortunately.

BUT KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED AND YOUR EARS TO THE GROUND.

For now visit http://www.myspace.com/KillerCoolENT for updates and info on all our shows, especially the stacked month of July!

Anyways, while working today I basically listened to only one album on repeat. Actually, I've been listening to this CD and this CD only for a few weeks now...

THE DANGEROUS SUMMER's "Reach For The Sun" album.

I've known of these guys for a few years but never took the time to really check them out until recently. All my friends have been raving about this new CD by them so a few weeks back when we had them @ The Loft w/ The Secret Handshake & The Morning Of I was able to score a CD from A.J..

I put it on my iTunes when I got home that night and it hasn't stopped playing since. It kind of reminds me of a modern fresh version of The Starting Line. It's not like anything else I've listened to recently either. It's its own thing.

If you have not checked them out or given this CD a chance yet you need to.
No, you have to.

You will not be disappointed.

Go.

Now!

Thanks :)

Resident Evils

This post is about 2 different Resident Evils.

1) The video game
2) A huge pet peeve of mine

Let's start with the game. I have not played a video game that wasn't a sports game or guitar hero (w/ the exception of some mario games) in I don't even know how long. My friend and roommate John decided to rent the newest Resident Evil game for PS3 the other day and got me playing it with him. For those of you unaware of this game it's basically about killing zombies and creatures of that manner. Anyways, we started playing together in the co-op mode and last night we got in the zone and ended up playing it until 6am. I do not stay up this late, I do not play games like this ever, I do not nerd out like THAT (I am a nerd though)... in other words, very uncharacteristic of me and now today I feel like one of the very same zombies we were trying to kill last night.
I would avoid this feeling at any cost.

That was a very uneventful paragraph but yet onto the pet peeve...

Please I beg of you, if you have not ever booked a show do not try and tell me how to do it. There's nothing worse than someone who has no knowledge of your job thinking they could do it better than you, cause you can't. I have kids leaning on the edge of this fence all the time and there's a 1,000 foot drop on the other side so please stay away from it.
You are wrong and I am right.
NOTHING PERSONAL

Problem Solver Revolver

It's only 11:07 in the morning here in lovely Poughkeepsie, NY (well I actually live in Wappingers Falls but it's close enough) and I've already woke up to bad news, let it sunk in as I was trying to actually wake myself up, figured out a solution, reached out to a few people, had it fixed and turned into a positive by my assistant Chris and myself and now I am casually working on the computer. For about an hour now.
Who works on Sundays?
Working in some regard is the perfect getaway for me. It allows me to get in "the zone" and just trail off. I love it. I'm addicted to it actually. For better or for worse it is there for me and I for it.

But anyways...

Problem solving is a huge aspect of my job. It's like being thrown into a real life puzzle and having to figure out the solution as quickly as possible as to not get swallowed whole by it.
I cannot stress enough how being able to problem solve will get you farther in any and every aspect of life.
WORK ON IT AND PRACTICE IF YOU HAVE TO.
A HUGE pet peeve of mine are when people ask me the answers to things they can easily figure out for themselves if they actually put any effort into it. Figure it out. It's much more rewarding when you Do It Yourself.

DIY 4 life.

/end rant.

Deal Or No Deal?

So I made a deal with someone close to me where my end of the bargain is that I have to post at least once a day on my blog. I've always wanted to but just always seemed to forget about it in the everydayness (is that even a word?) of life. So this is my start, every aspect of life needs a beginning. I tend to ramble in real life so this should be good for me.

I'll also do some show announcements and some contests through here maybe.

I realize is this a very boring first post back in the swing of things but cut me some slack, please?
Thanks I appreciate it.

Anyways, things to come.

Good things, bad things, pointless things, funny things, stupid things, nonsensical things, important things, unimportant things, all things, no things... You get the picture.
